Use the Text Leveler Tool to change any amount of text to a more appropriate comprehension level.
SchoolAI can help you change written text to a different reading level, aligning the complexity with reading skills and grade level to make the language more accessible to your students.
To use the Text Leveler Tool
In the left-hand navigation menu, select Tools.
On the Tools page, select the Text Leveler card.
On the Text Leveler details page, fill out the required fields:
Grade: select one or more grade levels for the adapted text.
Original text: paste or type the text you want to level (up to 10,000 characters), or select “Add files” to upload a document instead.
Select Create.
5. The leveled version of your text will open in a text editor, complete with a title (for example, "The Gettysburg Address (Simplified for 4th Grade)"), a Vocabulary Key defining any grade-adjusted terms, and Teacher Tips. You can also highlight any text and select the “AI Tools” button at the top of the document to choose an option like
Simplify
Fix spelling & grammar
Make shorter/longer
Change tone
Tl;dr
Emojify
Translate
Custom prompt
6. The document saves as you go. When you're done, you can share it through a link, export it as a PDF, or export it to Google Docs or Google Classroom using the Share and Export buttons in the top right.
Remember, the revised text that SchoolAI generates should be used as a first draft. Reviewing and customizing what you've built is important to make sure it works for your students.
