The SchoolAI browser extension gives you the ability to use SchoolAI on any webpage, allowing you to:

To install the browser extension

You can download the SchoolAI browser extension here. If your district uses a Google Education Workspace, you’ll need an administrator’s permission before you can use the extension. Learn how administrators can install the browser extension here.

To use the browser extension

  1. Open to a webpage or Google Doc in your Chrome browser

  2. Select the puzzle piece icon on the right side of your URL bar

  3. Choose the SchoolAI icon. A popup will open on the side of your browser.

  4. Use the prompt space to generate what you’re looking for, or choose one of the suggested options. If you’re in a Google Doc, you’ll have options to choose a feedback type (summary, comments, or revision history viewer).

    1. For generating feedback, upload your rubric or select standards

  5. Review and customize the AI-generated feedback

How do I use the SchoolAI browser extension?

In some cases, you’ll need your SchoolAI administrator to grant you permission. Learn more about setting up the extension here.

Once the extension is set up, select the puzzle icon near your URL bar and choose the SchoolAI icon. You can interact with SchoolAI from the popup.

Do you have extensions for browsers besides Chrome?

Yes. This extension can be installed on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc, and other Chrome-based browsers. It cannot be installed on Safari, Firefox, or DuckDuckGo.

Why am I getting an error that says “access not configured” or “your organization’s admin needs to review SchoolAI?”

The administrator on your Google Education Workspace will need to allow access. Learn more about allowing SchoolAI as a Google Education Workspace admin.
