Use Exit Tickets

An exit ticket is a type of AI Space that students work on to end class. Exit tickets show what your class learned today and how they’re feeling about it.

Updated over a month ago

Exit tickets are Spaces designed to be used at the end of a lesson. These AI prompts help students articulate what they learned about and give you a pulse on comprehension and sentiment. Exit tickets help you know if your class is feeling confident about the material.

To create an exit ticket:

  1. Go to Spaces > Discover

  2. Choose Exit ticket

  3. Enter an overview of the material

  4. Enter learning outcomes. You’ll need at least one, but you can use AI to help by choosing Generate for me

  5. Add additional details in the dropdown to help the AI respond more specifically

  6. Use the preview to make sure your exit ticket works the way you want

  7. Choose Launch

Pro tip: If you want help, the Space Designer Assistant can make recommendations for exit tickets tailored to your classroom! Ask the AI a question about how you can use exit tickets with your students.

Customization options

SchoolAI works the best when it’s customized. It’s optional (but highly recommended) to tailor your exit tickets toward a more specific fit for your class.

If you only enter the overview and learning outcomes, the AI will generate questions and conversations toward making sure your students understand the topic. You can take exit tickets a step further by adding personality indicators, personal interests, SEL indicators, and more.

Class description

Adding a description of your class helps the exit ticket adapt the tone and material to fit. We recommend you add grades and reading level at a minimum. You can be as creative as you want, adding any pop culture themes the class seems to be hooked on this week!

Insight requests

You can ask the exit ticket to ask a specific question. Or you can instruct it to gather information. For example, you can add:

  • Request feedback on their engagement and understanding of the lesson

  • Ask how prepared they feel for the upcoming test

  • Make me a summary of frequently asked questions or common misconceptions to address in future lessons
