Monitor student activity with Mission Control

Retain control of your classroom and analyze students’ learning as they work independently in AI Spaces.

Updated over a week ago

Mission Control is your real-time dashboard for monitoring student engagement in Spaces. It provides an overview of all student activity, including:

  • Real-time insights: Instantly see how students interact with the material, including their sentiment and understanding of learning outcomes

  • Data-driven decisions: Make informed, instructional decisions based on a live feed of data and trends in student performance

  • Personalized support: Use smart groups to identify students who need extra help or more challenges

  • Streamlined monitoring: Track all student activity in one place, simplifying the process of managing classroom dynamics

Watching your class interact in a Space through Mission Control is one of the most rewarding parts of SchoolAI, as you stay updated on student progress and celebrate their success.

Use Mission Control

  1. Go to Spaces > Sessions and select the Space you want to monitor

  2. Interact with the dashboard to get updates on students as a group or individually. You can see Mission Control in a Space that’s ended, but the Space needs to be active to monitor student performance in real-time

Mission Control actions:

  • Insights: On the right side panel, you’ll get synthesized insights about each participant. SchoolAI communicates what’s important about the student’s conversation by giving you a summary and flagging concerning behavior

  • Student activity: To see each student’s conversation, select their name under the participant section. You can also select the ... options menu to pause or end a student’s session

  • Groups: Students are automatically sorted into groups based on how they’re interacting in the Space

  • Filters and sorting: You can sort your Mission Control to have the type of overview you need. Use groups to sort students into similar activity levels or sort alphabetically to find a specific student. You can also sort by sentiment or how recently a student has interacted

  • Refresh: Mission Control updates by itself. Be sure to hit the refresh button if you need to see updates more frequently

  • Add tag: Under the title of the Space, add a tag to help you or your administrators differentiate between Spaces. This is a great option if you use the same Space between multiple class periods

  • Control the Space: You can invite students, change the prompt, pause, or end the Space within Mission Control

  • Download a CSV report: Download a record of student interactions and sentiment in the … options menu

As you stay updated on student progress and keep control of the Space, you’ll see the rewards instantly as you watch students meet learning objectives that you set.
