Preparing for the Upgrade: How to Save Your Video Explorer Sessions

Updated today

Video Explorer is getting an upgrade, one that gives you more control over the student experience and built-in AI-driven instruction to target concepts they haven’t quite mastered.

Because this is a completely new architecture, the current version of Video Explorer and its session data will be retired on March 31, 2026.

Action Required: If you want to keep your current student data, please download your session CSVs before that date. We won't be able to recover this data once the transition is complete.

How to Download Your Session Data

1. Head to Video Explorer and scroll to your Sessions list.

2. Find a session you’d like to save and click the “View” button on the right.

3. Once the session is open, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right and select “Download CSV” to export your data.

4. Repeat this process for any other sessions you’d like to keep.

What’s Coming?

We’ve redesigned Video Explorer from the ground up for a more tailored, impactful experience:

  • Timed Checkpoints: Instead of an open-ended chat alongside the video, the experience now features structured, timed questions that pause the video, prompting students to respond before continuing.

  • Targeted AI Review: AI-powered chat is still part of the experience, but it now appears after the video to help students review specific concepts they missed.

  • Full Teacher Control: You now have the power to review, edit, and manually add questions before your students ever see them.

Note: This update fully replaces the previous version. Past sessions from the old Video Explorer will no longer be visible in the new interface.

FAQ

Why the change?

The new version gives teachers full visibility and control while adding structured comprehension checks. Any new Video Explorer Spaces you create will use the updated format.

What happens if I miss the March 31 deadline?

Unfortunately, session data from the old version will be permanently deleted after March 31. Please make sure to download anything you need before then!

Will my existing Video Explorer Spaces still work?

Existing Spaces will stop working on March 31. However, you'll be able to recreate them—better than ever—using the updated version as soon as it’s available.
