Why are students getting an error when trying to join a Space?
Why are students getting an error when trying to join a Space?
Your school may be blocking the student domain from accessing SchoolAI to prevent students from creating teacher accounts. However, when the domain is blocked, students are unable to use Google SSO (Single Sign-On) to join Spaces or activities that are created and shared directly to Google Classroom.
There are two ways to resolve this issue:
Use Space Codes: When a Space is created, the teacher can choose to share the activity with a Space Code instead of Google Classroom. It will generate a link that will allow a student to join the activity despite having a blocked student domain. Take a look at our Help Center article about Getting Students into Spaces for more information.β
or
Unblock the student domain: This will require your IT department to intervene, using the domains above in this article. Please be aware that if you unblock the student domain, any student can attempt to create a free teacher account. If you decide to unblock the student domain and continue to run into issues with error messages, please contact support to can ensure that we are not also blocking your student domain on our end, which may have been done during onboarding if you are a Pro org.
